Selection/Rejection/Intetion Report

Design A:



This design is meant to maximize efficiency, and make the most use of eco-friendly materials. This design changes the traffic flow of the entire marina in order to make it more efficient. This design also replaces all pavement in the marina, which cut down on flooding, runoff, and water pollution. This design however is the most expensive of the solutions, because it involves the most change (ex: the boat ramp must be dug out)

Design B:




While very similar to Design A this design is also meant to cut down on the costs of the new marina it has slightly less changes to the current layout (mostly in plots too small to show in a drawing of the full marina), and in some parking lots where boats will not be stored it uses gravel instead of pavement. While the gravel is a less expensive alternative to previous concrete is does not have the same benefits, and can be kicked up by moving cars which may damage boats or other cars.

Design C:



This design is the least expensive of the three. This is because it leaves most of the existing layout intact, including the boat ramp. This design also uses gravel in some areas where boats will not be stored in order to cut down on costs. There are however drawbacks to the money saving aspects of this design. Other than the already stated the boat placement of the boat ramp is near the edge of the marina. This is the most likely place for any runoff to reach the water, and since it is near the edge of the marina, it is less likely that the pollution will be contained inside the harbor.
